Santo Domingo will host the 7º Ibero-American Gaming Summit

  • The city of Santo Domingo will bring together leading regulators and of the gaming industry to discuss the challenges facing the sector on a global scale.

Madrid, December 17th 2019. – Santo Domingo (Dominican Republic) will host the Seventh Ibero-American Gaming Summit, the annual meeting of reference for the gaming industry to be held on April 28th & 29th (Renaissance Santo Domingo Jaragua Hotel & Casino). The Summit will bring together key players and regulators within the sector, with the aim of improving regulatory mechanisms and the exchange of information between companies and regulators.

 The Summit is presented as the only meeting point that brings together regulators from all Latin American countries to strengthen government and corporate bonds.

After the fifth previous editions, held in Madrid, Mexico, Cartagena, Medellín, more recently, in Lima, the Ibero-American Summit of Gaming looks to further expand its borders in to more countries within the Latin American region.

The Government of Dominican Republic, through the regulatory body of the Ministry of Finance, Direction of Casinos and Games of Chance, will act as the Institutional Ambassador of the meeting. Dominican associations of gaming will also participate in this event.

The political-social stability of Dominican Republic and the dynamism of its economy contribute to guarantee the legal security of foreign investments in a country that has a strategic geolocation in America. In addition, the Dominican Republic continues its expansion in the area of ​​gambling and, particularly, with the updating and professionalization of the game with examples such as the application of the “Ley contra el Lavado de Activos” and the fight against illegal gambling. Not surprisingly, casinos in the Dominican Republic are an important attraction for the country’s tourism offer. An event with these insurance characteristics will contribute to promoting advances in the industry through a regulation that covers the new game and chance modalities currently in existence.
