12 regulators met in Lima to celebrate the 6th Ibero-American Gaming Summit
- The sixth edition of this important forum of the gaming sector at international level, of which a graphic and audiovisual summary is made available, concluded on May 15 after three days of activities with regulators, businessmen, associations of the sector and more than 200 industry attendees.
- Under the leadership of Mincetur and with important institutional, business and governmental participation, a joint statement was made among the attending regulators.
More than 200 attendees were in Lima on May 13, 14, 15 to celebrate the 6ª Iberoamerican Gaming Summit a meeting that, after five successful previous editions held in Madrid, Mexico City, Cartagena, Medellín.
Days after the celebration of the sixth edition of this important forum of the international gaming sector, composed of three days of activities with regulators, businessmen and associations of the sector, the photographs and the video summary of the event are already available.
The high commitment shown by all participants in this meeting, which for the fourth time leaves Spain, consolidates the Iberoamerican Gamimg Summit as a reference meeting, with a high institutional profile, for the promotion of relations between Europe and Latin America.
The General Director of Casino Games, Slot Machines of Peru, Manuel San Román, presided over Thursday the 6ª Iberoamerican Gaming Summit 2019, ‘Gambling in Latin America: a future of opportunities’, in which the regulators of gaiming of Spain, Panama, Argentina, Peru, Paraguay, Puerto Rico, Portugal, Uruguay, Dominican Republic, Colombia, Bolivia y Chile.
The regulators of these 12 Ibero-American countries that have participated in this sixth edition of the Summit have ratified their commitment, support and interest in generating and strengthening communication among all the actors in the sector, as well as discussing the current situation of the industry and exchanging ideas and experiences with the aim of strengthening relations between gambling companies and government entities.
“As a host country we are proud that Lima has been chosen as the venue for this important event, it will always be very pleasant to share with the attending regulators a space for the exchange of experiences and opinions on the activity of gambling” said San Román.
He added: “Only those of us in this activity know our commitments and the permanent mission of showing society the strengths of a regulated industry, in constant struggle against gambling, and against money laundering”.
In the words of Juan Espinosa, General Director of Gaming Regulation of Spain, a contributor to this forum from the beginning, “this edition has been corroborated once again that these forums of participation and collaboration are essential to facilitate the work that we as regulators are entrusted with, advancing in the mutual knowledge of those we face and seeing with the satisfaction of the new regulators that increase their usefulness”.
The Ibero-American Gaming Summit is consolidated as an annual meeting of great strategic importance, which provides the opportunity to closely monitor the news and milestones of the sector, while promoting networking and promote the emergence of synergies in the market.
Given the great interest shown by the participants, a new annual meeting of the Ibero-American Gaming Summit is expected in another Ibero-American market in 2020, to host this international forum.
Once again, the organization of the Ibero-American Gaming Summit is in charge of JAK Comunicación, the support of the Ministry of Finance and Public Administrations of Spain through the General Directorate for the Regulation of Gaming, and this edition with the collaboration as host of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism of Peru, under the framework of the General Directorate of Casino Games and Slot Machines of Peru.
